About Coulsdon

Coulsdon is an important district centre in the south of Croydon borough. Situated on the North Downs, a stone’s throw from the unspoilt countryside landscape of Farthing Downs and Happy Valley, the centre is a significant employment hub, with a diverse range of high street shops and services, and industrial parks nearby.

Coulsdon has grown from a small village that serviced the road and rail routes passing through the hills to the south to a suburban town centre at the edge of London. In recent years Coulsdon has undergone significant change with the closure and demolition of the Cane Hill hospital leaving only the Administration Building, Chapel and Water Tower, the construction of the bypass and most recently the public realm works to the high street.
